What is CMS?
A CMS or Content Management System is a web interface that keeps track of every piece of content on your web site. Users can edit this content without having any existing knowledge of HTML or web development. This gives the site owner absolute control over his website. For example, a site owner can edit the text on his home page to announce a new product offering. With the correct security settings, the site owner can be limited to editing text only. This protects the user from accidently damaging the website structure. Users can also be granted permission to edit other aspects of the web site such as adding photos to their gallery, creating new blog entries and updating their event calendars. In fact the security model behind our CMS suite allows for an infinite combination of permissions. Permissions can be set by web part (header, footer, navigation or custom zone), Modules, Content Pages or any combination. The CMS suite allows you to create as many users as needed, and each of those users can have a role (group of permission) assigned to them.

  How Does the CMS work?
Users can access the CMS interface by navigating to their website such as “www.mydomain.com/admin”. From there they are prompted to login with the provided username and password. After the user has been authenticated, they can browse the website as before, however the website is now editable. For example, if the user wants to edit the homepage text, they can simply navigate to the homepage and click on the text they wish to edit. The user will then be prompted with a WYSIWYG dialog that allows them to update their content.
